Angeles Academy of Music is home to one of the largest voice teaching teams in Los Angeles, with professional vocal instructors across our academy locations. Our faculty includes performers and educators trained at leading institutions such as Juilliard, Eastman, USC, Curtis, and other top conservatories. We carefully screen thousands of applicants and require all instructors to complete our proprietary 10-hour training program to ensure consistent teaching standards and instructional quality. This depth of faculty allows us to match each singer with the right vocal coach based on individual goals and learning style.

Some of the most powerful music ever written was created for the human voice — from ancient chants and classical opera to musical theater, jazz, and today’s popular artists. The voice has a unique emotional impact because it combines music with the expressive power of words. Many students find voice study deeply rewarding, gaining benefits such as increased confidence, greater body awareness, healthier breathing habits, and the excitement of performing with other singers or instrumental ensembles.
Voice instruction for children has a long tradition when taught safely and appropriately. With careful repertoire selection and gentle technique, young singers can develop healthy vocal habits without strain. At Angeles Academy of Music, we often introduce a balanced combination of basic piano skills, rhythm training, and singing as early as age four, depending on a child’s readiness and focus.
Many students begin to notice improvements within a few months, though progress varies based on interest level, consistency of practice, and how closely students follow practice guidance. Recording practice sessions, listening to skilled singers as reference, and participating in regular performance opportunities often accelerate improvement. Students who set clear personal goals tend to see faster and more consistent progress.
It is never too late to start voice lessons. Adults of all ages successfully begin singing for the first time or return after many years away. In many cases, adult students progress quickly because of strong focus, listening skills, and the ability to understand technique and musical concepts. With proper training and healthy vocal habits, singers can continue to improve at any stage of life.
